Celtic Knot Belt
This decorative knot is widely used in Celtic Knot work. But it is a knot with many names. The macramé term is the Josephine Knot, but it is also known as the Carrick Bend or Chinese Knot. In heraldry it is referred to as the Wake or Ormond Knot; Hereward the Wake ( who stood against Norman rule in 11th century England) used it as his heraldic badge.

Full beaded belt
I designed this belt to accompany my belly dance costumes. It is so comfortable to wear and makes a lovely “clacking “ sound when you move. I sew metal beads into the knot work with a mix of metal and wood beads on the ends of the hanging strands. Over 1200 beads in all.
But you don’t need to be a dancer to enjoy wearing this. A less noisy version is also available with only wood beads on the ends.
There is no fastening, it slips over the head for a snug fit; so an accurate measurement is required when ordering. I have a design in mind for a similar belt with a fastening, please contact me if you are interested.
